What is a Unicode code point?
Unicode gives every character a number called a code point, written like U+2665. The same number works everywhere: in HTML as ♥, in CSS as \2665, in JavaScript as \u2665, and in Word by typing 2665 and pressing Alt + X.
Some symbols are made of several code points, such as emoji with skin tones, flags and letters with combining accents. Paste them here to see each part. Browse popular characters on the symbol keyboard or see named codes on the HTML symbol codes page.
