Car emoji and what they show
๐๏ธ is a racing car, the low, single-seat kind you see on race tracks. ๐ is an everyday car seen from the side, ๐ the same car coming toward you, and ๐ is officially a recreational vehicle, which most platforms draw as an SUV. ๐ป pickup truck is one of the newer car emoji, added in Unicode 13.0.
Service vehicles have their own emoji: ๐ taxi, ๐ police car, ๐ ambulance and ๐ fire engine. The "oncoming" versions ๐ ๐ ๐ face the viewer, which is handy when you want a car driving toward the reader.
Text-style car symbols โ โ โ
โ DISABLED CAR, โ CAR SLIDING and โ BLACK TRUCK were added in Unicode 5.2, together with road traffic signs like โ DRIVE SLOW SIGN. They have no emoji versions, so they keep your text color, which makes them useful in plain-text notes, road reports and minimal designs. Font support varies, so check them where you paste.
Road trip and racing ideas
๐๐จ is the classic "I'm off" or road trip combo, and ๐๏ธ๐จ means going fast. Mark the end of a race or a finished project with ๐, fuel stops with โฝ๏ธ, parking with ๐ ฟ๏ธ and roadworks with ๐ง. Car sale posts often use a short line like "๐ 2018 ยท 45k miles ยท โฝ๏ธ hybrid".
