Which airplane symbol to use
โ๏ธ is the classic airplane, one of the original Dingbats in Unicode 1.1. It is the best supported plane and the one you see in travel bios and airport-style signs. ๐ซ shows a plane taking off (departures), ๐ฌ a plane landing (arrivals), and ๐ฉ๏ธ is a small private or propeller plane.
๐ง ๐ช ๐ฆ ๐จ are flat planes pointing up or to the upper right. They were added in Unicode 7.0 and have no emoji form, so they keep your text color. Need a helicopter, rocket or parachute instead? ๐ ๐ ๐ช are in the travel set above.
Airplane symbols for travel posts and itineraries
In bios and captions, โ๏ธ works like an arrow between places: "Lisbon โ๏ธ Tokyo" or "๐ London ยท โ๏ธ next stop Rome". For itineraries, ๐ซ and ๐ฌ make departure and arrival times easy to scan: "๐ซ 08:15 JFK" and "๐ฌ 11:40 LAX".
Add ๐งณ luggage, ๐ passport control or ๐ซ a ticket for the full trip, and find pins and maps on the location symbols and globe symbols pages.
Text style vs emoji style
โ๏ธ has two looks: a flat text symbol and a colorful emoji. Many phones pick the emoji on their own, so the same plane can look different in your notes app and in a chat. To keep it flat, set Symbol style to Text before copying. The black airplane symbol page explains how this works.
