Sword symbols and their names
⚔︎ Crossed swords (U+2694) is the main sword symbol. It is a flat text character that can also show as an emoji, and on maps it traditionally marks the site of a battle. 🗡︎ Dagger (Unicode name DAGGER KNIFE) is a single blade, and 🔪 kitchen knife is for cooking, not combat.
The typographic dagger † looks like a small sword pointing down. Writers use it to mark a second footnote after the asterisk, and next to a name it means the person has died. ‡ is the double dagger, used for a third footnote, and ⸸ is the turned dagger, an upside-down † that suits dark, gothic usernames.
Text art swords for games and bios
Unicode has no long sword character, so gamers build them from other symbols. ▬▬ι═══════ﺤ uses bars for the grip, the Greek letter ι for the crossguard and an Arabic letter for the tip, while o()xxxx[{::::::::::::> is made only of keyboard characters. Both paste as plain text, so they work in Discord, stream chats and game name fields that accept special characters.
For clan tags, frame a name with ⚔︎ on both sides, or add a gothic font from the Old English text generator for a knightly look, like ⚔︎ 𝔎𝔫𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱 ⚔︎. A crown from crown symbols or a skull from skull symbols completes a fantasy name.
