Cool symbols for game names
Gamers decorate nicknames with symbols that look like wings, weapons or crests. ꧁ and ꧂ are ornaments from the Javanese script, ༒ is a Tibetan mark, and 乂 and 亗 are Chinese characters picked purely for their sharp shapes. Tags like ᴾᴿᴼ and ᴳᵒᵈ are modifier letters, the same small raised letters used in phonetics.
Each game decides which characters it accepts and how long a name can be. If a game rejects your name or shows boxes, remove the rarest symbols first; ★ ツ 乂 and 彡 are among the most widely supported. Many players also put a clan or team tag in brackets, like 【TAG】 or 『TAG』, in front of their name.
Know what a symbol means
Some cool-looking symbols carry real meaning. ☬ is the Khanda, the emblem of Sikhism; ✞ and ✠ are crosses; ☯︎ is the Taoist yin and yang; and ⚜︎ is the fleur-de-lis from French royal heraldry. They are fine to use, but know what you are posting, especially in a name other people will see.
Others are purely visual: ✪ is a circled star, ⌖ is a position indicator that looks like a crosshair, ⟁ is a triangle inside a triangle, and ⚔︎ ☠︎ ⚡︎ need no explanation.
Make your own cool name
Combine three parts: a frame such as ꧁ ꧂, ★彡 or 『 』, your name in a fancy font such as Old English letters, and an optional tag like ᴾᴿᴼ. Keep the result short enough to read at a glance in a scoreboard or member list.
