The cloud symbol and its weather family
โ๏ธ is simply called "cloud" in Unicode and has been part of the standard since version 1.1. It is a text symbol by default, so it matches your font. Some apps turn it into a colorful โ๏ธ emoji; the text and emoji switch on this page lets you choose.
The weather clouds came later. โ ๏ธ (sun behind cloud) and โ๏ธ (thunder cloud and rain) arrived in Unicode 5.2, and the rest of the set, ๐ค๏ธ ๐ฅ๏ธ ๐ฆ๏ธ ๐ง๏ธ ๐จ๏ธ ๐ฉ๏ธ ๐ช๏ธ ๐ซ๏ธ, in Unicode 7.0. Together they cover almost any forecast, from partly sunny to fog. For rain, โ๏ธ (umbrella) is the plain text option and โ๏ธ (umbrella with rain drops) its emoji partner.
What cloud symbols mean
Besides the weather, โ๏ธ is the usual sign for cloud storage and online services, and ๐ญ stands for thinking or daydreaming. ๐ฏ๏ธ is an angry speech bubble, and ๐จ is a puff of air or someone dashing away.
In aesthetic bios, clouds feel soft, calm and dreamy. They combine well with a crescent from the moon symbol page, little stars and pastel hearts. If a storm is more your mood, the lightning bolt symbol page has text bolts like ฯ that fit right next to โ๏ธ.
How to type the cloud symbol
In Microsoft Word, type 2601 and press Alt + X. On Windows, press Windows + . and search for "cloud"; on a Mac, press Control + Command + Space. On iPhone and Android, the emoji keyboard search finds every cloud.
