The real verified badge is not a character
The verified badge you see on Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook is an image that the platform draws next to a verified name. It is not part of Unicode, so there is no way to copy and paste the real thing. Anything you type into a name or bio, including ✔︎ or ☑︎, is just text and shows up as text.
The closest look-alikes are ✔︎ (heavy check mark), ☑︎ (ballot box with check) and ✅︎. On phones these may appear as color emoji, and the exact color depends on the device, so there is no blue check that looks the same everywhere. The combining circle in ✓⃝ wraps a check in a ring, but some apps do not center the circle neatly.
Using check symbols honestly
Adding a tick next to your name to look officially verified is easy to spot, because the symbol sits inside the name instead of beside it, and it can break platform rules against impersonation and misleading profiles. A fake badge can get an account reported or restricted.
There are plenty of honest uses, though: "☑︎ verified facts", "✔︎ fan account", "✓ commissions open", "✅︎ in stock" or a checklist of goals in your bio. A blue heart 💙 or blue circle 🔵 next to a check gives the same color theme without pretending to be something it is not. For more ticks and boxes, see the check mark symbol page.
How to type a check mark anywhere
The quickest way is to copy one from this page. On Windows, press Win + . and search "check". On a Mac, press Control + Command + Space and search "check". On iPhone and Android, type "check" in the emoji search to find ✅︎ ✔️ ☑️.
If you want a name that looks special without a fake badge, try decorative letters from the fancy text generator or a few cool symbols instead.
