Email symbols and what each one says
✉︎ is the classic mail symbol and the most common "email" icon in contact lists. It is one of the original Dingbats text characters, so it matches your font. 📧 is the e-mail emoji, 📩 shows an envelope with an arrow (a message coming in), and 📨 an incoming envelope. 📤 and 📥 are the outbox and inbox trays.
The mailboxes 📫 and 📬 have their flag up, while 📪 and 📭 have it down, so people use them for "you've got mail" and "no new messages". 〒 is the Japanese postal mark, also seen on 🏣, the Japanese post office.
Mail symbols in signatures, résumés and bios
Put the symbol before the address: "✉︎ [email protected]". The text ✉︎ prints cleanly in Word, Google Docs and PDFs and looks professional on a résumé; 📧 adds color for casual emails. In Instagram and TikTok bios, "📩 business inquiries" or "📧 collabs" tells brands how to reach you.
Line up your contact details with matching symbols: ☎︎ for phone (see the telephone symbol), ✉︎ for email and 📍 for address. The @ sign itself has its own page: at symbol.
Mail symbols on websites
In HTML, ✉︎ is ✉. To open the visitor's mail app, link the address with href="mailto:[email protected]" and put ✉︎ in the visible text. Writing an address as "name [at] example [dot] com" makes it a little harder for simple spam bots to collect, though people must retype it.

How to type a mail symbol
The @ sign is Shift + 2 on US keyboards. For ✉︎, type 2709 in Word and press Alt + X, press Win + . on Windows, or Control + Command + Space on a Mac and search for "envelope". Phones have 📧 and the envelope in the emoji keyboard.
